The camping area can only be accessed by boat or kayak, adding an element of adventure and exclusivity to your camping experience. The closest boat ramp to access the island is located on the mainland at Victoria Point. The camping area offers 10 sites in total.
Each campsite is suitable for tent camping and can accommodate a maximum of six people. The campsite surfaces are a mix of sand, dirt, and grass. There are no specific facilities at the camping area, so campers should come prepared with essential supplies. Open fires are allowed but should be limited to Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) provided fire rings unless there are fire bans in effect. Fuel stoves are recommended. Generators are not permitted, ensuring a peaceful environment for all campers. Essential items to bring include drinking and cooking water, a portable toilet, gas stoves (preferred), or firewood (untreated mill off-cuts, not bush wood), rubbish bags, and insect repellent. Mobile phone coverage at Blaksley Camping Area is poor, so campers should be prepared for limited or no connectivity.
