This unique camping zone provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, surrounded by dunes, shady trees, and the pristine beauty of the Eastern Beach. The camping zone is accessible by high clearance 4WD vehicles. K'gari is located 15km off the coast of Hervey Bay and about 300km north of Brisbane. Various camping options are available: tent camping, camper trailer camping, and tent camping beside your car. Generators are allowed with certain conditions. High clearance 4WD vehicles are necessary for beach driving. All vehicles must be registered and drivers must have a valid license. Queensland road rules apply, even on the beaches. Safety guidelines for 4WD and boating must be followed to minimize impact and ensure a safe experience. Walking trails and scenic drives provide opportunities for exploration. The area is rich in cultural and historic sites, allowing you to delve into the island's heritage. Fishing is a popular activity, allowing you to unwind by the waters.

The area boasts a steep track that leads to the Sandy Cape lighthouse, World War II radar station bunkers, and a lightkeeper's grave, offering historical and scenic exploration.
