Broadwater Waterhole camping area is located within Lochern National Park, approximately 5 kilometers from the park's eastern boundary. To reach the camping area, visitors need to turn right at a designated turn-off and continue for another 2 kilometers.
While it can be accessed by conventional vehicles in dry weather, it is recommended to use a high-clearance 4WD for a more comfortable and safe journey. Campers have the flexibility to choose from various camping options, including tent camping, camper trailer camping, and tent camping beside their vehicles. Basic camping facilities are available, including designated fire rings for campfires (with conditions), providing an opportunity for campfire cooking and relaxation. There are no restroom facilities or amenities, so campers should be prepared to be self-sufficient during their stay. Campfires are permitted in designated fire rings, but it's important to check for any fire prohibitions or bans before starting a fire. Campers should come well-prepared with essentials such as sturdy rubbish bags, insect repellent, sun protection, a first aid kit, a reliable torch, vehicle spares, and sufficient fuel for their entire stay. Mobile phone coverage is unavailable in this remote area. It's advisable to carry satellite phones, personal locator beacons (PLBs), or UHF radios for communication and emergencies.
