Access to Byra Lagoon camping area is limited to 4WD vehicles only. The terrain requires vehicles with high clearance and off-road capabilities, making it unsuitable for caravans and buses. Campers with off-road camper trailers can also access the area, but it's essential to have the appropriate equipment for these rugged conditions. Byra Lagoon offers a primitive camping experience. There are no separately defined camping sites; instead, it's an open area shaded by coolibahs and river red gums. Campers can set up their tents beside their vehicles or use camper trailers. The campsite surface is natural dirt. Campers are permitted to have open fires in designated fire rings, except when fire bans are in effect. The use of generators is prohibited at Byra Lagoon camping area to maintain the tranquility of the natural surroundings. his camping area does not have any facilities, such as toilets or showers. Campers should be prepared for primitive camping and are encouraged to bring their own supplies, including drinking water, rubbish bags, insect repellent, a first-aid kit, vehicle spare parts, extra drinking water, food, and fuel. Mobile phone coverage is available at the nearby park office, but it may be limited or unreliable in the camping area itself.
