Carinda Primitive Campground
Carinda Primitive Campground is located beside the swimming pool and provides free camping for caravans and motorhomes. Carinda is a small village situated 78 kilometres South West of Walgett. Carinda has a General Store, Fuel Station/Post Office and The Carinda Hotel is famous for featuring in David Bowie’s 80’s film clip “Let’s Dance”. The Carinda Community have developed the Let’s Dance Festival celebrating the life of David Bowie each October long weekend.
Free public dump points are available at Alex Trevallion Park in Walgett or Coonamble Caravan Park.
The Macquarie Marshes (Bird Viewing Platform site) are located on Gibson Way. The National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) offers an annual discovery tour of the Nature Reserve every October, The Northern site entry is located on the Warren/ Carinda Road
