Castle Rock camping area is accessible by conventional vehicles, making it suitable for a wide range of campers Each site can accommodate two camper trailers, caravans, motorhomes, or a combination of trailers and tents. Tent camping is allowed only when associated with a caravan, motorhome, or trailer. Castle Rock camping area caters to various types of campers, including those with specific needs. There are dedicated sites for larger family or friend groups and persons with disabilities (PWD). PWD sites include facilities such as toilets and shower cubicles. Campers can enjoy views of The Pyramid and Castle Rock, observe kangaroos grazing, and listen to the forest's birdlife. The ground is made up of hard decomposed granite soil, dirt, and grass. Facilities include a shower cubicle (BYO shower and water), flush toilets, unfiltered water (which should be treated before drinking), communal picnic tables, and wood barbecues. The main amenities block at Castle Rock camping area is wheelchair accessible. Open fires are permitted only in QPWS barbecues, except during fire bans or prohibitions. Fuel stoves are recommended, and campers should bring their own cleaned, milled firewood if they plan to use the barbecues. Collecting wood from the bush is prohibited. Visitors are advised to bring drinking water, rubbish bags (as no bins are provided), insect repellent, a fuel or gas stove for wet weather, warm clothing, and warm bedding. Mobile phone coverage is not available in the camping area.
