Central Station camping area is located on K'gari, which is about 15 kilometers off the coast of Hervey Bay and approximately 300 kilometers north of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Access to the camping area is primarily by high clearance 4WD vehicles. It's important to note that all vehicles must be registered, drivers must be licensed, and Queensland road rules apply, even on beaches. Central Station camping area offers a range of facilities to ensure a comfortable camping experience. Campers can enjoy a world away from everyday life, with vibrant green mosses and a forest floor covered in soft fallen leaves. Central Station camping area provides 40 tent sites and 15 trailer sites. A large group site is available for organized groups of 20 to 40 people. Campers should bring essential items like a first-aid kit, prescription medicines, fuel or gas stove, water containers, rubbish bags, insect repellent, and sand pegs. Open fires are prohibited, and generators are not permitted. Mobile phone coverage is generally not available at the camping area.
