Dogwood Creek Camping Area
There is one designated camping area in Barakula State Forest, which is accessed by unsealed roads that are suitable for conventional vehicles in dry weather only. It is accessible for trailers; off-road high-clearance caravans and small off-road high-clearance motorhomes. Camping permits are required and fees apply. Book online or phone 13 74 68. Dogwood Creek camping area provides visitors with a peaceful stay in an open woodland area near the banks of the creek deep within the forest. Visitors need to be self-sufficient as there are no facilities provided. Please camp with minimum impact. Take all your rubbish out of the forest for appropriate disposal. Rubbish bins are not provided in Barakula State Forest. The nearest refuse transfer station is at Slessar Street Chinchilla 45km from Baraka. Open fires are allowed (except when fire bans apply). Fuel stoves are recommended. Generator use is prohibited. Mobile phone coverage is not available. Dogs are permitted in the Dogwood Creek camping area they must be on a leash and under control at all times.
