1) Open fires: allowed in fire rings only (except when fire bans apply).
2) Generators: allowed. Generators may be operated only between 8am and 7pm providing they have a sound rating of 65 decibels (2.0Kva) or less.
Things to know
The Five Rocks camping area is accessed via the Byfield National Park. Its location, just north of Stockyard Point township, offers a serene escape from urban life, allowing you to reconnect with nature in a relatively remote environment access to the camping area requires a high clearance 4WD vehicle. There are a total of 12 numbered and defined camp sites, with a maximum occupancy of six people per site. Basic facilities such as composting toilets, picnic tables, and water (which should be treated before drinking) are provided. Campers need to bring their own shower equipment for the available shower cubicle. As the camping area aims to blend with the natural environment, open fires are allowed in designated fire rings. Clean, milled timber is to be brought by campers, except during fire bans. To have a comfortable and enjoyable experience at the Five Rocks camping area, it's recommended to bring insect repellent, sunscreen, a first-aid kit, sturdy rubbish bags, sufficient drinking water, and an ample supply of fuel for your vehicle due to the remote nature of the location. Mobile phone coverage can be unreliable in the area. Reception may be available from Stockyard Point headland or on the beach during low tide.
