Things to know

It's a true escape from the modern world, as the camp is only reachable by foot. The journey to Flaxton Walkers' Camp begins at the Baroon Pocket entrance point, a 16.1km one-way adventure through the heart of the eucalypt forest. Upon arrival, campers are greeted by 12 carefully curated sites that blend harmoniously into the landscape. Each site is embraced by the natural beauty of ferns and shaded by the tall eucalypts and ash trees that define the area. These sites have been thoughtfully designed for two people, encouraging an intimate and immersive experience with nature. The camp's maximum capacity is limited to 24 people, ensuring a sense of exclusivity and preserving the tranquility of the surroundings. To make the most of the experience, campers are advised to pack thoughtfully. Essential items include a fuel or gas stove, drinking water, water treatment tablets or purification systems, insect repellent, a washing-up basin, a ground sheet to protect tents from wear, warm clothing, and wet weather gear to stay comfortable in all conditions. Fortunately, mobile phone coverage remains reliable at the campsite, allowing campers to stay connected if desired, although the allure of the natural surroundings might inspire a digital detox.
