Accessing the camp involves a walk-in journey, immersing visitors in the natural beauty of the surroundings. The campsite facilities include non-flush toilets and tent camping areas. The experience of shedding your backpack and hiking boots upon arrival is a welcome relief, as you settle into the camping area that is not far from the picturesque Maranoa River. Gadd's Walkers' Camp are designed to accommodate the needs of hikers. The camp is strategically situated near the Great Walk trail, and the tent sites are thoughtfully arranged within an open grassy area shaded by the ironbark trees. The availability of a water collection point with a hand pump nearby ensures that visitors have access to fresh water. It's important to note that the Carnarvon Great Walk has seasonal closures, particularly during the hottest period from the start of November to the end of February. As for essentials, visitors are advised to bring a fuel or gas stove for cooking, water treatment tablets or a purification kit, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a rubbish bag. Mobile phone coverage is nil.
