It is approximately 2.1 kilometers from the Hinson Creek trailhead or 16.9 kilometers from the Cardwell Range trailhead. Access to this camping area is limited to walking or cycling; there is no vehicular access.
The camping area does not have separately defined sites but can accommodate a maximum of 10 people. It is particularly suitable for campers who prefer walk-in or cycle-in camping experiences. The surface in the camping area is natural dirt. Hinson Creek camping area is a rustic camping spot with minimal facilities. There are no amenities such as toilets or showers, so visitors should come prepared for a more primitive camping experience. Open fires are strictly prohibited, so it's essential to bring a fuel stove for cooking. Generators are not allowed to maintain the natural tranquility of the area.
