Things to know

The camping area is accessible by high-clearance 4WD vehicles, trail bikes, and walk-ins. It's important to note that low-clearance trailers, caravans, and buses are not recommended due to the conditions of the access roads. Campfires are allowed, but please adhere to the conditions and any fire bans that might be in effect. Generators are permitted with the request to keep noise to a minimum. Various camping options are provided, including tent camping, camper trailer camping, and tent camping beside your car. All campsites are situated on sandy surfaces, allowing you to immerse yourself in the coastal environment. The camping area offers approximately 40 sites, each accommodating tent camping beside your car and 4WD camper trailers. The sites are not individually numbered, fostering a sense of communal camping. Since there are no facilities available at Kinkuna, it's important to come prepared with essentials such as food, drinking water, medical supplies, portable toilet, rubbish bags, insect repellent, and fuel. While open fires are allowed (except during fire bans), it's recommended to use fuel stoves. If you choose to have a cooking fire, bring your own milled timber for firewood, as collecting firewood within the national park is prohibited. Mobile phone coverage is variable depending on network provider— you may get reception along the beach.
