Things to know

Lucky Bay Campground offers 25 campsites that can accommodate tents, regular size campervans, camper trailers, and caravans. In addition, there are two separate 'open' camping areas that are only suitable for tents. One of them is large enough to accommodate eight tents, and the other can accommodate 12 tents. These 'open' areas do not have separated individual camp sites, making them ideal for small groups camping together. It is important to note that the campground does not provide drinking water. While untreated water may be available, its supply is not guaranteed, and treatment is required to make it safe for consumption.

The distance from Esperance to this site is approximately 60km, which can be reached by taking Cape Le Grand Road. Alternatively, it can be accessed from the beach located east of Esperance, but only 4WD vehicles are suitable and caravans are restricted.

Location

Neighborhood

The secluded bay provides a perfect setting for activities like swimming, snorkelling, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. However, it is important to note that the beach does not have any lifeguards on duty. The campground offers easy vehicle and trailer access to the sandy beach, making it convenient for launching small boats. Moreover, the campground also serves as a starting point for the Cape Le Grand Coastal Trail, which stretches for around 17 kilometers. Specifically, the section from Lucky Bay to Thistle Cove and back, spanning approximately 3 kilometers, is suitable for people of various ages and fitness levels.
