Mt Oxley
Located on a private sheep station, 32km from Bourke, Bill and Denise invite you to visit Mount Oxley and spend the day or stay the night on their magnificent property.
Day visitors can enjoy 360-degree views of the outback. It is also a bird lovers' paradise and one of the only places where you can look down to see wedge-tailed eagles soaring on the thermals.
Take a bushwalk and observe the native trees growing in the rocks; Silver-leafed Ironbark, Mulga, Beefwood, and Western Bloodwood. Or seek out the euros, a type of Wallaroo, that spend most of the day in the rocky area (scientific name Macropus Robustus).
Camping atop Mount Oxley provides the opportunity to enjoy some of the Outback’s most magical sunsets and sunrises. There is also rustic accommodation available at the Shearer’s quarters.
