MV Natone Camping Area
M.V. Natone camping area is one of 5 camping areas on the Inskip Peninsular. It is located behind the foredunes, off Inskip Point Road. This is the third camping area after the entrance of the recreation area. If offers an open camping area behind the foredunes. There are no formally defined sites. It is only a short walk to the surf beach. Sites are scattered amongst the trees, with some amazing sites right up to the beachfront with stunning views. It is not advisable for trailers, caravans, or buses, but we did see a few smaller vans that managed to get in. There are some low-hanging branches in some sections. The maximum length of stay is 30 nights, dogs are permitted but must remain on a leash and under control at all times.
Beach she-oaks, cypress pine, and other coastal trees and shrubs shade Inskip Peninsula’s camping areas, which are ringed by open ocean beaches and sheltered estuary shores-all within 15 minutes drive of Rainbow Beach. Wind and water conditions generally become calmer in areas where the peninsula curves westward towards the Great Sandy Strait.
