Things to know

This camping area can be accessed by high clearance 4WD vehicles or by boat. Off-road camper trailers are also permitted, subject to track and weather conditions. Access tracks from the beach to camping areas are clearly marked by name and a camping and vehicle access symbol. There are four defined open camping areas within Nine Mile Beach—Pandanus, each with varying maximum occupancy limits. These areas are Myrtella (maximum 24 people), Melaleuca (maximum 18 people), Pandanus (maximum 12 people), and Casuarina (maximum 18 people). The campsite surface primarily consists of grass and sand. There are no facilities available at the Pandanus camping area. The nearest facilities, such as toilets and amenities, can be found at the Five Rocks camping area in Byfield Conservation Park. Campfires are allowed at this camping area but with strict conditions. Visitors must bring their fire containers, which must be enclosed and placed off the ground. It's essential to adhere to fire regulations and bans when they apply. Gas or fuel stoves are recommended for cooking. Generators are allowed at Nine Mile Beach—Pandanus but must be operated only between the hours of 8 am and 7 pm. Additionally, they must have a sound rating of 65 decibels (2.0Kva) or less. Visitors are advised to bring insect repellent, sunscreen, a first-aid kit, sturdy rubbish bags, an ample supply of drinking water, and sufficient fuel for their vehicles. Portable chemical toilets are recommended, as there are no toilet facilities on-site. Mobile phone coverage in this area is unreliable. Visitors may find some reception available from Stockyard Point headland or on the beach during low tide. Consider carrying a satellite phone for emergency communication.
