North Macushla camping area is situated on Hinchinbrook Island, part of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area, and is accessible via boat. The camping area is approximately 8 kilometers off the Queensland coast, near Cardwell. Campers can set up their tents in a shady, open area with easy beach access. The camping area is void of defined sites, allowing for a sense of freedom and space. Imagine waking up to the sound of waves gently crashing against the shore and enjoying unparalleled views of the deep blue ocean, rocky outcrops, and distant mainland from your tent. While the camping area offers a rustic experience, basic facilities such as non-flush toilets and picnic tables are available. Campfires and generators are not permitted to preserve the natural environment. Campers are advised to bring their own drinking water, rubbish bags, insect repellent, and fuel stove. Mobile phone coverage is poor, allowing campers to truly disconnect and immerse themselves in nature.
