North Mandu Campground

  • Unpowered Site

North Mandu campground has five sites that can accommodate large campervans or regular caravans and camper trailers. However, it is not suitable for caravans or camper trailers larger than 7.5m x 4.5m when fully expanded (including drawbar). Tents are allowed, but the surface is compacted gravel, which may make it difficult to drive pegs into the ground. It is recommended to bring a thick sleeping mat or mattress, or a camp cot or stretcher as sleeping may be uncomfortable without these.

The second route is from the south, which is only suitable for high-clearance 4WD vehicles. However, crossing the tidal Yardie Creek across soft, shifting sand is required. It is important to note that this route should not be attempted by anyone who does not have the appropriate equipment, knowledge, skills, and experience.

Drinking water is not provided. Ensure you have sufficient supplies (including water, food, fuel, medication and first aid), and equipment and clothing appropriate for the conditions before travelling.
