Point Pure Remote Bush Camp

Things to know

This campsite is only accessible by walking, and it requires specialist skills in bushwalking and navigation. It is a challenging trek that is suitable for experienced off-track walkers with specialized equipment and well-developed navigational skills. The campsite is designed for tent camping, but it does not have separately-defined sites. It's an open grassy area, and a maximum of 8 people can camp here. Facilities are minimal, and campers need to be entirely self-sufficient. The ground is covered in grass and is shaded by eucalyptus trees and fire-scarred grass trees. Open fires are prohibited at this campsite. Campers should use fuel stoves for cooking. Campers should be well-prepared with essential items such as drinking water, extra food, a first-aid kit, topographic map, compass, torch, warm clothing, wet weather gear, rubbish bags, insect repellent, and a fuel or gas stove. A small trowel for burying faical waste is also recommended. Mobile phone coverage in the area is poor, so campers should not rely on their phones for communication or emergencies.
