Pt Quobba Blowholes Campground

  • Unpowered Site

The campground at Quobba Point Blowholes offers an affordable option for camping, boasting a convenient location right by the water. Accessing the campground is easy, as it is situated just off the main road and requires a short drive on a well-maintained dirt road. The famous blowholes are just a short walk away, making it a prime spot for snorkelling enthusiasts. The pleasant water temperature makes it ideal for year-round activities. Instead of choosing to stay in the town of Carnarvon, which is a thirty-minute drive away, we decided to set up camp here. It proved to be the perfect base camp, allowing us to enjoy cozy campfires at night.

Things to know

Blowholes are a suitable option for independent individuals, as they provide chemical toilets. However, toilets are only accessible for day visitors because of the significant distance between the campsites and toilet facilities. The wilderness campsite solely provides unpowered camping sites. Certain campsites offer scenic views of Point Quobba beach, while others are tucked away among the dunes. It is important to note that camping near the shacks is not allowed. On-site, there is a designated dump point and rubbish collection area. Remember to bring your own water, food, and general supplies.

Location

Neighborhood

Located just one kilometre to the south of the Blowholes, you will find a tranquil lagoon brimming with coral and affectionately referred to by the locals as the 'Aquarium'. Abundant with an array of fish and shells, this lagoon features a pristine white sandy beach, making it an ideal destination for families or even a delightful beach picnic. With its calm waters, the lagoon offers an excellent opportunity for snorkeling, particularly for individuals who are less confident in aquatic environments.
