The starting point is a locked gate at the end of Seidenspinner Road, where the real adventure begins. This initial step marks the beginning of a 1-hour easy to moderate walk, leading campers deeper into the untamed beauty of Mount Maroon's foothills. There are no defined sites at Skull Camp, but the area can accommodate a maximum of 30 people. This open layout allows for flexibility and a sense of freedom in choosing your perfect spot Self-sufficient, walk-in camping enthusiasts who appreciate the simplicity and authenticity of camping in the wild. The ground is covered in soil and leaf litter, providing a natural and rustic feel. Open fires are prohibited at Skull Camp. Campers should use fuel stoves only for cooking. The use of generators is not allowed, ensuring a peaceful and environmentally-friendly camping experience. When camping at Skull Camp, make sure to bring essential items such as drinking water, extra food, a first-aid kit, a topographic map, a compass, a torch, warm clothing, wet weather gear, rubbish bags, insect repellent, and a fuel or gas stove. Mobile phone coverage at the campsite is not reliable, allowing campers to truly disconnect from the outside world and immerse themselves in nature.
