Things to know

Access to the camping area is exclusively by 4WD vehicles. Due to the rugged terrain and unpaved roads, it is not accessible for caravans, campervans, or buses. The road may become impassable during and after heavy rains, so travelers should exercise caution and plan their trip accordingly. Camping options include tent camping, camper trailer camping, and tent camping beside your car. The campsite provides partial shade from the melaleuca trees that line the waterhole. There are no dedicated facilities or amenities at the camping area, so campers should be self-sufficient and bring all necessary equipment, including food, water, mosquito nets, insect repellent, rubbish bags, and a fuel stove. Campfires are allowed, with specific conditions that may apply, so it's essential to check for any fire bans or restrictions before lighting a fire. Generators are permitted under certain conditions, including operating at a noise level of less than 65dB(A) and within specific hours (8:00 am to 7:00 pm). Mobile phone coverage is not available in the area, so visitors should be prepared for limited connectivity. It is crucial to follow safety guidelines, especially regarding 4WD travel, minimal impact camping, and respecting fire regulations.
