The camping area is accessible by conventional vehicles, making it convenient for a wide range of campers. Wheelchair access is available, though it may require some assistance. The camping area provides 35 numbered sites, each with specific dimensions that include space for vehicle parking. Some sites may have trees, which could limit their suitability for certain structures. The camping area is not suitable for caravans or large motorhomes, but alternative accommodations are available just outside the national park. Open fires are prohibited to protect the natural environment. Camping is only allowed in the Carnarvon Gorge visitor area during the Easter, June-July, and September-October Queensland school holidays, with a maximum stay of 5 nights. Campers are advised to bring animal-proof sealable containers for rubbish, as there is no garbage collection or removal service available. Insect repellent is also recommended. Mobile phone coverage is limited and unreliable in the area.
