Gum Hole Camping Area is accessible by 4WD vehicles only, ensuring a sense of remoteness and adventure. It's located approximately 500 meters from the turn-off on Springvale Road. This camping area provides basic yet essential facilities to ensure a comfortable stay. Campfires are allowed, provided you adhere to the specific conditions in place and use the fire rings provided. A pit toilet is available for convenience. It's important to note that open fires might be restricted during fire bans or prohibitions, so it's advised to stay updated on such alerts. Keep in mind that there are limited sites available (8 unnumbered sites), and camping is allowed only in existing clear areas at least 10 meters away from the riverbank. Caravans and camper trailers are not permitted at Gum Hole Camping Area; for these, you can explore Hunters Gorge camping area. Gum Hole Camping Area provides an opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and reconnect with the natural world. Before embarking on your adventure to Gum Hole Camping Area, it's important to come prepared. You should bring all the necessary supplies, including food and drinking water. Sturdy rubbish bags are essential to maintain the pristine environment. Insect repellent and sun protection are recommended to ensure a comfortable stay. A well-stocked first aid kit, reliable torch, and vehicle spares are crucial for any unexpected situations. As mobile phone coverage is unavailable, having satellite phones and UHF radios is recommended for communication.
