Things to know
Access to this camping zone is limited to high clearance 4WD vehicles and by foot. The camping area can accommodate camper trailers and offers parking facilities beside the camp sites. There are a total of 76 sites available, all clearly marked with totems. Seasonal closures may affect site availability, so it's advisable to check in advance. This camping zone caters to various camping preferences, including tent camping beside your car, camper trailer camping, and large groups. Campers are required to stay within the designated camp site footprint. The camp sites feature a sandy surface, so it's essential to bring sand pegs for securing your camping equipment. Campfires are allowed in existing fire sites, but campers must adhere to fire bans or prohibitions when applicable. Fuel or gas stoves are recommended as an alternative. Generator use is permitted between 8am and 7pm, provided campers are considerate of others. Campers are encouraged to bring drinking water and containers, water sterilisation tablets, rubbish bags, sunscreen, insect repellent, firewood (untreated mill off-cuts), an axe, sealable containers for rubbish, a first-aid kit, a shovel, a portable toilet (to maintain hygiene), and sand pegs. Please refrain from placing portable toilet waste into island toilets, as it can disrupt their systems. It's important to note that mobile phone coverage in the North-west camping zone is poor and unreliable. Campers should be prepared for limited connectivity during their stay.
