Situated 16km from Builyan and 33km from the Bruce Highway via the Granite Creek access, Old Forestry Camping Area is accessible by conventional vehicles in dry weather, making it a convenient destination for both families and solo travelers. The road leading to the camping area is unsealed and can also be accessed by trail bikes and bicycles, offering varied options for outdoor enthusiasts. The camping area does not have separately defined sites, but it can accommodate a maximum of 10 people per camp. The campsite surface is primarily composed of dirt and grass. There are no designated facilities at Old Forestry camping area, so visitors must be self-sufficient and adequately prepared for emergencies. Campfires are allowed, except during fire bans. Campers should bring their own clean, milled timber for firewood and maintain a cleared area around the campfire. The use of generators is not permitted to maintain the tranquility of the camping area. Visitors are advised to bring all essential supplies, including food, drinking water, sturdy rubbish bags, insect repellent, sun protection, a remote-area first-aid kit, a reliable torch, and communications equipment. Mobile phone coverage is poor, so it's recommended to have satellite phones, UHF radios, or EPIRBs for emergencies.
