Things to know

Please note that there is no drinking water available in Cape Range National Park, and the only personal hygiene facility is a no-flush pit toilet. The months between December and April can be extremely hot, while tropical cyclone season is between November and April. Storms are common throughout Western Australia between May and October. As Cape Range National Park is located in a very remote part of Australia, it is important to make sure you have enough supplies, including water, food, fuel, medication, and first aid, as well as appropriate equipment and clothing for the conditions before embarking on your journey.

Location

Neighborhood

The beach at Cape Range National Park is a great place for swimming, snorkeling, and launching canoes and kayaks. However, drivers should be careful while using the 4WD vehicle and trailer access to launch small boats as the sand is very soft and there is a risk of getting stranded. The area is known for the appearance of the world's largest fish, the whale shark, nesting of three of the world's seven species of marine turtle, and the humpback whale migration. Ningaloo Marine Park offers many opportunities to enjoy swimming, snorkelling, diving, fishing, and surfing and can be accessed from various places in Cape Range National Park, including all of the campgrounds. Additionally, Cape Range National Park provides walk trails, scenic lookouts, and a bird hide.
