Camping in Lawn Hill Gorge

There is one camping area in Boodjamulla (Lawn Hill) National Park in Lawn Hill Gorge. Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Book online in advance. The camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle from May to October although a four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended. Camp on the banks of Lawn Hill Creek, nestled in a lush gorge carved into the surrounding dry savannah landscape. There are 14 caravan/camper trailer sites and six tent-only sites (all sites are first in, best placed). All sites are unpowered. Some tent sites and all camper trailer/caravan sites are wheelchair accessible. Facilities include water, flushing toilets, and cold showers. Rubbish facilities are not provided in the park. Please take your rubbish with you when you leave. Open fires are not permitted fuel or gas stoves only. Generators and pets are not permitted. Telstra Next G coverage is available intermittently along Gregory Road (beginning 10km past the mine turn to the national park) and for about 10km south along Riversleigh Road. Once inside the park, you can get a reliable signal at the national park office, camping area, Duwadarri Lookout, and on top of the Constance Range. The nearest public telephone is at Adels Grove, 10km from the park.
