Dorrigo South Camping Area
The Dorrigo South camping area is a popular beachside camping spot located on the eastern side of the Inskip Peninsula. It offers a range of camping options and recreational activities for campers to enjoy. The camping area is named after the S.S. Dorrigo, a steamer that sank in 1926 off Double Island Point. The names of various camping areas on the Inskip Peninsula recall past shipping history. The S.S. Dorrigo incident is remembered due to the tragic loss of 21 crew members.

Things to know
The camping area is accessible by high clearance 4WD vehicles. It can be reached via Inskip Point Road or the beach. No vehicle access permits are required. However, it's important to note that access is limited for off-road high clearance camper trailers and caravans. Camping buses and motorhomes are not suitable for this area. Campers are advised to bring essentials like drinking water, portable toilet, rubbish bags, insect repellent, first-aid kit, sunscreen, and sand pegs. Mobile phone coverage is Intermittent.
