1) Open fires: Prohibited. Only cooking and heating appliances that meet the below requirements are permitted unless a QFES total fire ban is in place.
2) Generators: Only low decibel generators up to 2.0Kva are permitted between 7am and 9pm. Consider neighbours especially at night. Please turn generators off at 9pm.

Access to this camping area is limited to high-clearance 4WD vehicles and trail bikes. It is important to note that only registered vehicles with licensed drivers are allowed, and all Queensland road rules apply, even on the beach. Camping zone 1 offers beach camping without formally defined sites, allowing campers to choose their preferred spot within the zone they have booked. Suitable camping options include tent camping beside a vehicle, camper trailers, and campervans with high clearance. The camping area is characterized by a surface of sand and/or grass. Facilities at the camping area include bulk rubbish bins, but campers are required to bring portable toilets with sealed waste holding tanks. Bag and bucket style toilets are not permitted. Open fires are prohibited in this camping area. Campers are only allowed to use cooking and heating appliances that use gas or manufactured fuel (heat beads, briquettes). Generators are allowed but must meet certain criteria. Only low decibel generators up to 2.0Kva are permitted between 7am and 9pm. Considerate use of generators, especially at night, is encouraged. Mobile phone coverage is not available in this area, but there is a pay phone at the Freshwater camping area, just north of Teewah Beach camping zone.
Neighborhood
Teewah Beach camping area zone 1 is a stunning location to camp, with a backdrop of she-oaks, banksias, pandanus palms, and steep, colored-sand cliffs. Campers can enjoy activities such as fishing for bream and flathead, walking along the shore at low tide, and observing shorebirds resting along the beach. Birdwatchers will have the opportunity to spot birds of prey soaring overhead. During the winter months, campers can look out to sea for humpback whales migrating along the coastline. 4WD enthusiasts can explore the Cooloola beach drive, which offers views of the striking colored sands of Rainbow Beach. Nearby attractions accessible by 4WD include Freshwater Road and the Kings Bore circuit.
