The camping area spans 14 kilometers along the eastern beach of Cooloola and can be accessed via the Cooloola beach drive. Access to this camping zone is limited to high-clearance 4WD vehicles. All drivers must be licensed and adhere to Queensland road rules, even on the beach. A vehicle access permit is mandatory and must be displayed on your windscreen. Zone 7 offers open camp sites, allowing campers to set up tents, caravans, camper trailers, or camp beside their cars. Facilities include bulk rubbish bins and portable toilets, which must have sealed waste holding tanks. Generators are allowed within specific timeframes and under certain conditions. Prepare for your adventure by bringing fuel or gas cooking appliances, portable toilets, drinking water, a fuel or gas stove, rubbish bags, a first-aid kit, insect repellent, sunscreen, and sand pegs. Freshwater day-use area provides untreated fresh water, while mobile phone coverage is unavailable, allowing you to truly disconnect from the digital world.
